Oakmont at Pelican Bay is a single-family home community located in the north-central portion of Pelican Bay off Oakmont Parkway and Green Tree Drive.  There are a total of 133 homes located in Oakmont with construction on the first properties completing in 1987.  Construction continued through the early 90's.  Many of these homes have had complete remodeling done and/or additions which show like almost new construction while others are still completely original and may need updating.  A handful of Oakmont homes have lake views while others offer larger than normal lot sizes due to the Tamiami Trail buffer.  The majority of these homes back up to each other but offer fenced back yards for privacy.  A special feature about Oakmont is the fact that there are no additional mandatory fees other than the master association fee which is just over $1,000 per year.  A nominal annual fee is optional if you wish to join the Oakmont neighborhood association.
