Pelican Bay Woods is the first single-family home community developed in Pelican Bay and is located in the southern portion of Pelican Bay off Ridgewood Drive. Homes began construction in 1980 and have continued until 2006 with the majority of the homes built in the 80's.  Many of these homes were constructed featuring floor plans slightly ahead of their time featuring higher ceilings  or at least vaulted ceilings and many have been through extensive renovations since.  Although there are still some homes which remain in there original state, some of these homes feature fabulous updating.  Most of these homes are located on slightly larger lots than its sister subdivision, Oakmont at Pelican Bay and the majority of these homes back up to other homes.  There are some homes within Pelican Bay Woods that do offer lake views and golf course views which will typically be reflected in the offering price.   One of the great features about Pelican Bay Woods is the fact that most of these homes were custom built.  Because of the over-sized lots, meandering streets, mature trees and beautiful vegetation, Pelican Bay Woods is a beautiful neighborhood and worth considering.
